Hi Prof Trefon. Sorry to nitpick but I found your article less than perfect. Not sure if your figure about Kivu holding 70% of the world's coltan is accurate - but kivu is very far from being the largest supplier of the mineral to the market if the figures in the Geenen and Maryse political economy book are right anyhow. Second your article characterises Kigali as a benign dictatorship at home. But this is a false divide within Rwanda the rpf have almost certainly killed tens of thousands in reprisal killings after the genocide and they continue to assasinate political opponents. Sorry to nitpick
